Jonathan Marinatos
I am a warm, empathetic and calm psychotherapist. After finishing my education at AIPC Australia I became a licensed Psychotherapist and founded ACT of Living Aarhus in 2022.
My therapy approach is mainly founded in principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ‘ACT’. It is also very important for me to work intuitively with my clients, since
each individual is unique.
I happily work with all people from any cultural background. I have helped people from Denmark as well as internationals from around the world with a range of issues. I have experienced treating stress, anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, trauma and relationship issues.
Whilst moving to Denmark I went through the challenging process of integration and felt a deep loss. I applied the ‘ACT’ principles and was able to work through these challenges. I have an interest in helping other internationals through their process of integration and the loss associated with settling in a new country.
Coming from the outside of your life, I can help you become aware of what is at the root cause of your problems. From this new found awareness we can address your problems together, and take action towards doing things differently, to create the life you choose to live.
It is important for me to be authentic and create a trusting and honest therapeutic relationship with my clients. Trust facilitates the space for you to comfortably open up about your issues. This is the foundation of our work together towards decreasing your pain and bringing back joy in your life.
I love being a therapist because I get to experience my clients changing their lives, through the work we do together. After a number of sessions I notice my clients having a clearer mind and feeling more themselves again, which I find deeply rewarding and meaningful.
